It's Good to Know: India's Cultural Complexity

Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, and Sikhism are the four major religions in India. Nearly 900 million Hindus make up just over 80 percent of the country's population. According to a 2001 census, approximately 174 million Muslims live in India. About 22 million are Christians or Sikhs.
